Road rage; formally defined as violent anger caused by the stress and frustration involved in driving a motor vehicle in difficult conditions; informally defined as crazy people who have lost all sense of basic human morality and rationality. And if you’ve had a front row seat to a road rage incident, then you are one of the lucky few who have been fortunate enough to witness a psychotic break first-hand, congratulations!
- Stage 5 Clinger
Now, no one can be entirely sure what the driver did to evoke this extremely unique brand of aggression, but if the video is any indication, it must have been enough to warrant risking his safety and his dignity.
- When the Bark is Bigger than the Bite…
In case you’re unsure, this is what too much testosterone looks like. In this video, you’ll see that a pedestrian decides to try and shave a few minutes off of his time by jaywalking, almost gets hit by oncoming traffic, and then feels the wrath of the driver who almost hit him.
As a rule of thumb, if a toy poodle has a higher level of maturity than you do, it’s probably time for some self-reflection.
- Tiny Tim Attack
I don’t know what’s funnier, the fact that this woman apologized to the people behind for unintentionally grazing their car before intentionally attacking a Volvo pulled over on the shoulder, or the fact that her weapon of choice was a single crutch.
- Gettin’ the Axe
First of all, I think it’s important to recognize that road rage in Russia is on a whole other level of crazy. Second of all, it’s a bit concerning that both parties seemingly keep their road rage weapon of choice in the car at all times as precautionary measure.
Thankfully, both of these men came to their senses and realized that taking a baseball bat to an axe fight was not entirely a fair match up and respectfully parted ways.
- Sons of Stupidity
A Prius vs. a Harley, the ultimate showdown…
- Crazy Cartoons
There are quite simply no words for this…
- Bad Grandpa
I’m not sure that the punishment quite fit the crime, but I’m sure we’ll all feel much safer knowing that this 70-year old was required to attend a reckless driving course, right?
All jokes aside, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 94% of all traffic accidents are caused by driver error. Of those accidents, 33% can be linked to behaviors typically assigned to road rage, such as illegal maneuvering or misjudging the intent of another driver. With that said, it may be best to leave the driving to the professionals and leverage public transportation alternatives instead. Not only does public transit eliminate, or at least substantially decrease, your chances of having an encounter with a road rage crazed lunatic, but it can also help get you get where you need be safer, and more efficiently than driving yourself.
The public transportation industry is constantly striving to achieve greater levels of innovation and efficiency in order to better serve its communities. In recent years, we’ve seen a rise in the amount of agencies who have adopted transit management software, such as route optimization software, in an effort to provide individuals, couples, and families with more convenient, safer, affordable, and sustainable transportation options.
