WAYNE, Pa (July 16, 2018) – Ecolane is thrilled that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) received two awards for Best Use of Technology and Innovation in the regional America’s Transportation Awards competition--one of which was for its statewide demand-response software implementation.

“These awards recognize the innovative ways PennDOT resolves challenges to better serve the people of Pennsylvania,” PennDOT Secretary Leslie S. Richards stated.

The installation process took more than five years to complete, having integrated it for 42 transportation providers at 51 locations, servicing 65 counties combined.  The coordinated system has elevated and enhanced efficiency and safety of the paratransit services across the state.

On-time performance and data-collection are key components that helped agencies improve customer service.  Additionally, the implementation has saved an estimated $600,000 per year in maintenance fees and administrative costs across the state.
