Midland-Odessa Urban Transit District uses ARRA Funding to Implement Ecolane DRT for Paratransit Service

Elk Horn, Iowa September 3, 2009 – Ecolane USA, Inc., a leading provider of scheduling and dispatching software solutions, today announced that the Midland-Odessa Urban Transit District (MOUTD) has implemented Ecolane DRT for the ADA curb-to-curb service within the urbanized area of Midland and Odessa, TX. MOUTD was able to purchase the state of the art scheduling and dispatching solution using funding through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.

MOUTD selected the Ecolane DRT solution to make major improvements in the overall operation and to provide a path to meet future demand. The Ecolane DRT solution allows better customer service, while controlling costs and provides scalability to meet the long-term goals of MOUTD. The complete system; including the all reservation, scheduling and dispatching, reporting software and servers are provided as a hosted service.

“The entire process was smooth and fast. The implementation with Ecolane and was a great success. We made a sound investment in the best technology, and the fact that the solution is completely web based and hosted by Ecolane greatly reduced IT involvement from our staff.” said Edward Esparza, General Manager at MOUTD “We are now well prepared to meet the increase in demand that the future holds without needing to increase our resources.”

“MOUTD is a prime example of how smaller transit systems can take advantage of the benefits of Ecolane DRT, a full-featured scheduling and dispatching system with integrated MDT/AVL,” said Ryan Larsen, President of Ecolane USA.
